So Again I am Forced to Ask.......

I ran across this post today at American Thinker highlighting FactCheck.org calling out President Obama's claims of job saved or created so far as completely bogus.
"At President Obama’s April 29 news conference, he claimed that the American
Recovery and Reinvestment Act has “already saved or created over 150,000 jobs.”

Huh? Wait just a cotton picken minute-aren't thousands of people losing their jobs every month? Are unemployment claims going up or at least holding steady month after month?

Also, I have to strongly agree-how could they possibly know what jobs have been saved or created when there is zero accounting for the funds from the ARRA at this time and barely a spit-pots worth has even been spent yet?

So again I am forced to ask, will anyone call bullshit?

  1. Whole heartedly agree. No one can really know the impact, positive or negative. Why make such blanket statements.

  2. It seems to me that President Obama is using his "political thinking" to present is case in a political arena. Very similar to what most, if not all, administrations have done in my adult lifetime.

They, the different administrations, make their case by using mathematics. I am not saying they are always using "good" mathematical thinking, but it does help them with their argument. Reminds me of the arguments used before we went to war in Iraq.

Was it Mark Twain that said, " there are lies, damn lies and then there is statistics?" :-)
