EPA set to strong arm on CO2

Apparently no one informed the EPA about Climategate.....or they have and that is exactly why they want to declare CO2 a "Public Danger" immediately. This was a threat for several months and it is my guess now that the science of climate change is being called into question they feel they have no time to waste. The EPA may make a move as early as Monday to gain another avenue of control over the environment by taking over the regulation of CO2 gasses and penalizing their emitters. "Emitters" will cover everything from cow butts to manufactures-leaving no chance for error in decimating the economy.

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency will early next week, possibly as soon as Monday, officially declare carbon dioxide a public danger, a trigger that could mean regulation for emitters across the economy, according to several people close to the matter.

Such an "endangerment" decision is necessary for the EPA to move ahead early next year with new emission standards for cars. EPA Administrator Lisa Jackson has said it could also mean large emitters such as power stations, cement kilns, crude-oil refineries and chemical plants would have to curb their greenhouse gas output.
The timing, right before the conferences at Copenhagen, couldn't be better either. With hopes of real Cap and Trade dying by a very public blood letting, this Administration is surely scrambling for another way to force this economy killer through. If they can't get it by passing new laws with taxes and fines, they will have the EPA regulate it; either way companies will forced to spend the money and those costs will be passed on to the American people. This tactic is no better and in fact may be worse because the EPA isn't bound in the same way by the constitution and the rules concerning governance. There is no one the American people can call or petition to stop ridiculous regulations from getting through. It's much harder to bring any pressure to bear.

If we need a reminder of the damage the EPA can do, just look at their effect on the economy of California.....
