What the liberals in this country fail to understand is the Electoral College was meant to give all states equal weigh in deciding how our country will be run and who will run it. This is not a pure Democracy and for good reason. States like California have many more people in it and would hold more power than a state like Massachusetts if a system like this were to pass.Under the law, which was enacted by the House last week, all 12 of the state's electoral votes would be awarded to the candidate who receives the most votes nationally.
Supporters are campaigning, state by state, to get such bills enacted. Once states accounting for a majority of the electoral votes (or 270 of 538) have enacted the laws, the candidate winning the most votes nationally would be assured a majority of Electoral College votes. That would hold true no matter how the other states vote and how their electoral votes are distributed.
Here is the liberal left trying anything they can to bypass our Constitution any way they can. If they can't get the majority to agree with them, they will circumvent the proper way to do things-such as a Constitutional Amendment-and force their way through at all costs.
