Obama "There are more important things than the birth certificate issue.....like my taping of Oprah"

Let me start by saying, I don't care one thing about the birth certificate controversy surrounding President Obama. I have always been in the camp that if there really had been something to see the Clintons would have found it long ago. Additionally, there are SO MANY important issues to focus on, this just distracts from the true discussion. However, I did find the egotism and hubris of our President in his press conference today completely insulting and so par for the course with this President.

Obama, appearing in the White House briefing room shortly after senior administration officials distributed the document to reporters, blasted the “sideshows and carnival barkers” who have pushed the birther conspiracy instead of focusing on important issues.

“We do not have time for this kind of silliness,” Obama said. “We've got better things to do. I've got better things to do.”

Obama said that “normally I would not comment on something like this.” But he said he was bothered that the bigger news stories were about his birthplace even after House Republicans released their budget and he gave his own speech about his plans for reducing the deficit.

Does anyone but me wonder why he doesn't get it? The reason people continue to focus on the "birther" issue and not his deficit plan is because people are desperate to get him out of office. They will turn to any remedy or sliver of hope that we will get our country back. They're not focusing on his deficit plan because it is horrible and doesn't focus on the things that must be done to get our economy back under control.

I can only assume that by better things to do, Obama means "go on Oprah" because that's where he went after the press conference today.
