AFP Missouri put on an event in St. Louis last night for School Choice Week.The panel consisted of Dick Morris, Dana Loesch, Mike Podgursky and Robbyn Wahby. The panel discussion surrounded the choices available, especially in the inner city school systems and ways we can improve not only those choices, but the entire school system. There was much talk surrounding the influence teachers unions have. They influence not only the quality of the learning environment, but also the money in education and how its spent. They also covered the importance of parental and even student involvement in the education process. The consensus seemed to be that while the choice to go to a better performing school or an educational program better tailored to the student needs is important, there was no amount of choice that supplants the parents influence on the child's desire to learn and the effect that has on things like quality of education, graduation rate and even having better choices in available schools.

There was much discussion surrounding inner city schools, the current state of education, and the lack of good choices for families. Dick Morris brought up Detroit city schools. Families looking for good schools and more choices are leaving that city in droves. That reduces the student body and tax base. This often results in teacher lay-offs and larger class sizes-often more than 60 kids. Then because of the ridiculous teachers union rules, what may be a good teacher must be laid-off to keep a vested teacher in his position. At that point teachers unions demand pay raises for the teachers that remain due to increased class size-which the city cannot then afford to give because of the reduced tax base-which results in even more teacher lay-offs. This leaves inner city families with no choice. They end up with a few bad schools that are over-crowed and filled with many teachers who retired years ago but didn't bother to tell anyone.

In many ways we are facing some of these same choices in our own city schools here in St. Louis. Robbyn Wahby points out that in St. Louis City lost about 22,000 children (and their tax paying families) since the last census. Those families are leaving the city for the suburbs where they have true choice and better public schools. Interestingly, the population of young adults without kids has increased in St. Louis. This would indicate our city does have culture and other qualities that can be used to attract families-we just have to make it top priority to find and retain quality teachers and run quality schools. Dana Loesch says that part of that reform must involve reforming the teachers unions and the way they work. She related a personal story about a young energetic teacher who was very popular in her high school. This teacher used lots of applied learning (hands on) and was a great teacher. The union came in and told her to "tone it down" because she was angering the older, less energetic teachers who had already established the "proper" way to teach. Putting the kibosh in new ways to teach and maligning fresh young teachers has long been practiced in teachers unions across the country. For those teachers, all the talk of "the children" is just that, talk. They care nothing about the children, they care only for their cushy jobs and sweet pension.

So, what are some of the solutions? Parental and student involvement is a huge factor in the success of students. Alternative schools, such as Loyola Academy where this event was held, involve the kids and the parents fully in the education of the student. Kids who could otherwise never afford a college prep school are given the chance to beat the odds. Before students are admitted they are interviewed and told the expectation of the school. Parents get a similar treatment. Parents are expected to volunteer many hours throughout the school year and less than 100% from either the parent or child is not good enough. Loyola has it right. They are a private school-they have the ability to set standards and expectations, then hold parents and students accountable. Their way is working for at-risk kids in the inner city. When a program works, parents spread the word and enrollment increases. If we had good choices in schools, those schools would survive because families would not move out of the area to get the programs they need for their kids.

The President of Loyola Academy says they are not saving students, they are empowering them to be successful. All of our schools need this attitude. We need schools that don't simply act as holding cells between the hours of 7:30 and 2:30 Monday thru Friday. We need schools that empower children and involve parents. We need schools that hire quality teachers and have a mechanism to rid themselves of ineffective or even down-right abusive teachers. We need metrics that measure results and then the guts to close schools and re-engineer school districts to fix actual problems. Failing teachers and failing schools must go. There must be an effective, results oriented way to deal with these issues.

At the end of the panel discussion, they wrapped up with a few final thoughts. Robbyn Wahby reminds us that any good idea is twice as likely to succeed with good support systems. If we have ideas we want implemented or we feel the mayors office is promoting good choices in education, we can support that effort by making it known we support it and doing things that promote the choice. Dana Loesch thinks good choices in schools are extremely important, but that getting the unelected federal bureaucracy out of our local schools is also imperative. We have standards decided and implemented at the federal level-things like Common Core Standards and Longitudinal Data Systems-that influence the meat of what our children are being taught, yet we have no say so in what is included in those standards. Finally, Dick Morris says we are in the middle of an education revolution. In 2010 through 2014 we will see a time of great change to our educational system, at this time Missouri is not leading the charge on this, but we could be. It is time to grab the reins and lead the charge for the future of our children's education.

Google begins massive data aggrigation

Yesterday Google released information on their new privacy policy, or lack thereof, set to take effect on March 1st. In the announcement was the consolidation of over 70 different privacy policies into one. Thier new policy states Google will track useage across multiple products, such as email and search, and customize your browsing experience based off that.

The main change, says Google, is that if you are signed into your Google account, Google will combine user info across its products to better serve account holders. As Google says, "In short, we’ll treat you as a single user across all our products, which will mean a simpler, more intuitive Google experience"

The announcement has many users concerned. Google has been accused of privacy breeches before and is currently under investigation by a couple of different agencies for various possible business practice violations. When a search giant like Google wants to pilfer your email and searches in order to deliver ads it begins to feel a little creepy. There is little doubt this new "No More Privacy, Policy" will come under the microscope as well.

All students of American history know the big events that dramatically shaped our country. The Civil War, Pearl Harbor, the assassination of John F. Kennedy, and 9/11 are just a few. But there are other, less famous events that had an equally profound impact.
Notable conservative historian Larry Schweikart takes an in-depth look at seven of these transformative moments and provides an analysis of how each of them spurred a trend that either confirmed or departed from the vision our Founding Fathers had for America.

Larry Schweikart was born in Arizona, went to Arizona State University, got terrible
grades, and upon graduation promptly went on the road as a drummer in a rock band.
His group became semi-famous, opening for “Steppenwolf,” the “James Gang,” and “Mother’s Finest,” and drew the attention of Billboard Magazine. After a few years, however, Schweikart tired of the road and wanted a more intellectual pursuit. After a single U.S. history course during a stint in summer school, he decided he wanted to be a professor.
Graduating from the University of California, Santa Barbara, in 1984, Schweikart had already written two books and several academic articles as a graduate student. After a year in the University of Wisconsin system, he took a position at the University of Dayton, where he teaches to the present.
Over the years, Schweikart has written nearly 30 books, dozens of articles and book reviews, and became an authority in antebellum banking and finance. In the 1990s, he wrote his own history of American business, The Entrepreneurial Adventure, then, with
Michael Allen, began work on a larger project, a history of the United States.
Published in 2004 as A Patriot’s History of the United States, this book became a bestseller and attracted the attention of the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, and talk-show host Rush Limbaugh, who interviewed Schweikart for his newsletter in March 2004. Now in multiple editions and a fourth printing, Patriot’s History continues to be “the” alternative history for parents disgusted with the dominant liberal-left textbooks.
In 2006, Schweikart followed up with the controversial Americaís Victories: Why the U.S. Wins Wars. Featured on BOOK TV and numerous television and radio shows, Schweikart was invited by the President of the United States to the Oval Office for an extended discussion of military history in August 2006.
Now, with his new book, 48 Liberal Lies About American History (That You Probably Learned in School) Schweikart is back in the culture wars. How SOPA, PIPA, NDAA, MMI, and the DHS are stripping you of freedom

No doubt over last few days you have heard much talk about SOPA (Stop Online Piracy Act) and its Senate companion bill PIPA. (The Protect Intellectual Property Act) Both of these bills give unprecedented power to the government and content creators to seize domains and shutter web sites. Unfortunately, the people writing these laws have no idea how the Internet works, nor do they really care. When your backers are mostly the big Hollywood agencies or entertainment behemoths like MPAA and RIAA, heavy-hitters claiming they want to protect their clients, yet also the biggest infringers on IP rights of them all-and there are millions of dollars in campaign donations at stake, you'll go the extra mile to make your "friends" happy.
For all of the lefts talk of protecting the 99% from the 1% there isn't much discussion of how these laws more often protect the "haves" from....well, everyone else. From patent law, idea censorship, bailouts and tax breaks-you name it-our government uses law, power and regulation to protect corporations from the free market competition that might, under the right circumstance, threaten their longevity. And they do it all under the guise of "protecting" us, yet the little guy rarely, if ever, benefits from any of these protections. More likely, competition and innovation of start-ups or mom and pops are stomped out by giants using government to wield unchecked power. Laws such as these are perfect examples of the government stepping in to pick winners and losers. Rather than the music and movie industry changing with the times, they use government power to stick to the status quo and retain a stranglehold over the entertainment industry.

RIAA already prostitutes existing copyright and IP law to sue college students and dead grandmas for millions. Why the need for more laws? The government swears these new laws wouldn't be abused by them or anyone else. They are simply for the protection of the assets of people and the livelihood they create. Guilty until proven innocent will only be used against foreign criminals that rob these poor corporations blind.....except history shows us a completely different story. Take patent law and the chemical giant Monsanto. Through an abuse of patent law they have successfully sued, for millions, family owned farms accused of illegally growing their genetically modified seed-even when said farmer did not plant the seed and Monsanto willingly acknowledges that fact. How about just this past year when 73,000 web sites were shut down in July with no warning, no day in court. Completely put out of business on order to the ISP from the DHS. Or how about when ICE did it here, here and here? What about the case of Dajaz1.com? That site was shut down and all assets seized for more than a year. Again, no charges were ever filed and no explanation was given. In the Dajaz1 case, ICE acted on the word of the VP of Anti-Piracy Legal Affairs from RIAA, without proof or evidence of violation or infringement of law. In one part of the case, they acted on behalf of an artist not even represented by an RIAA label.

The Dajaz1 case became particularly interesting to us, after we saw evidence showing that the songs that ICE used in its affidavit as "evidence" of criminal copyright infringement were songs sent by representatives of the copyright holder with the request that the site publicize the works -- in one case, even coming from a VP at a major music label. Even worse, about the only evidence that ICE had that these songs were infringing was the word of the "VP of Anti-Piracy Legal Affairs for the RIAA," Carlos Linares, who was simply not in a position to know if the songs were infringing or authorized. In fact, one o f the songs involved an artist not even represented by an RIAA label, and Linares clearly had absolutely no right to speak on behalf of that artist.

We have this history and these facts, yet our government wants us to believe that laws like SOPA/PIPA or NDAA or the Media Monitoring Initiative-where personal and public information of "news anchors, journalists, reporters or anyone who may use traditional and/or social media in real time to keep their audience situationally aware and informed.” will now be tracked and aggregated-are not positioned perfectly to abuse us, the American citizen? They want us to believe they will not be used to silence those that are not in agreement? I'm just not that trusting.

These bills do not stop the criminals they claim to be going after. The censorship regulations written into these bills won’t shut down pirate sites. Those sites will just change their addresses and continue selling pirated materials or others intellectual property; law-abiding sites will face high penalties for malfeasance they likely aren't aware of and can’t possibly control. Through a convoluted set of checks and balances the multi-billion dollar search giant, Google, is protected from infringement claims, but you and I are not. We must know the end-point of links and follow information rabbit holes that touch our sites, as much as three layers deep. If you don't and one person says you are purposefully harboring links or paths to protected content, BOOM, you're out of business. The government and gigantic corporations again swing the crushing sword of the elite, with no one to check their power.

Andrew Sullivan thinks you are dumb

This weeks cover story for Newsweek, written by fake conservative Andrew Sullivan, asks the burning question: "Why are you so dumb?"

Apparently, the unwashed masses do not see how Obama holds out an extreme leftist view, gets attacked for it, then actually implements some moderate idea that the people with brains all sing and dance around or.....something.Unfortunately the entire article is full of liberal "facts" that just dont add up. It's basically the same 'ole line "BUSH DID IT!" and Obama had to clean it up.

That line isn't working any more kids. Obama has no idea what he is doing-the out-of-control debt, soaring unemployment, business killing regulation and a housing market that has NEVER in history been so bad, show us that.

"It's time for Ms. Wasserman Schultz to stop spreading her vitriolic anddivisive rhetoric about the millions of Americans who support the Tea Partymovement and its three core values of constitutionally limited government, freemarkets, and fiscal responsibility," said Mark West, President of theChattanooga Tea Party.

"Today, we are challenging Ms. Wasserman Schultz to a debate on theConstitution," said Michael Patrick Leahy, co-coordinator of Election DayTea Party. "We think the country is ready for direct and civil discourseon what the Constitution says about the proper role of the
federal government in our lives. That's the real issue. Ms. Wasserman Schultzand the entire leadership of the Democratic Party believe that the federalgovernment should keep taxing and spending more and more. We in the Tea Partymovement think otherwise."

The first national event of Election Day Tea Party 2012will be a celebration of the Tea Party movement's 3rd anniversary on February25th, 26th, and 27th. On February 27, 2009, the Tea Party movement was launchedwith simultaneous tea parties in fifty cities which were
attended by more than 30,000 tea partiers. This was immediately followed by TaxDay Tea Party on April 15, 2009, when over 1 million tea partiers participatedin rallies held in more than 900 cities.

Michelle Moore, organizer of the St. Louis Tea Party Coalition in February2009, said "The St, Louis Tea Party will be happy to host this debate onFebruary 25, 2012, the 3rd Anniversary of the movement. We think CNN, MSNBC,and FoxNews will be very interested in covering such an event."

Lorie Medina, founder of the Frisco, Texas Tea Party and creator of the Victoryin a Box Get-out-the Vote program added, "We'll put forward the TeaParty's view of the proper constitutional role of the federal government. Ms.Wasserman Schultz can put forward the Democratic Party's view of the proper roleof the federal government. We'll let the voters decide which view they agreewith, and which view is extremist."

So the old man apparently didn't want his bill......

......on Saturday night, according to a complaint filed with the Palm Beach Police Department, he reacted to subpar service by calling his waiter a "schmuck" and breaking his finger. Castle and his wife Marianne, the complaint says, were having dinner at Club Colette, an elite Palm Beach private dining club (restaurants are for poors), when their waiter Paul Kucik made the unforgivable error of bringing them the check. Which is vulgar, I guess? From the report, which was first reported by the Palm Beach Daily News:
Kucik stated that Mrs. Castle requested that Kucik bring her their dinner bill. Kucik stated that when he returned to the Castles' dinner table, Mrs. Castle instructed him to give the bill to her husband, John Castle who was seated across the dinner table from her.
Kucik stated that he attempted to hand Mr. Castle the bill and Mr. Castle became irate with him and yelled, "You schmuck, why did you bring the bill to the table?" Kucik stated that he replied, "because your lady asked for it." Kucik stated while he stood on the left side of Mr. Castle, he (Kucik) attempted to hand Mr. Castle an ink pen. Mr. Castle began ranting and grabbed Kucik's left hand and began squeezing and twisting his fingers. Kucik stated that Mr. Castle had a very tight grip of his left hand and Kucik had to pull his left hand out of Mr. Castle`s grasp. Kucik stated he was not certain which hand Mr. Castle grabbed his left hand with, but he believed Mr. Castle used his right hand.
Kucik stated that he immediately notified his employer of the incident, but no action was taken. Kucik stated he began experiencing pains in his fingers as a result of Mr. Castle's actions. Kucik stated that on January 8, 2012 at 9:00 a.m., he went to the M.D. Walk-In Clinic located on Lantana Road. Kucik stated an X-Ray of his fingers indicated that his left ring finger was broken.

This is extremely scary......the DHS will set-up random ID check-points at the Social Security office but they won't do anything to secure our boarders?

Residents of Leesburg, Florida were shocked to see their local Social Security office turned into a random Homeland Security checkpoint Tuesday morning, as DHS officers armed with semiautomatic rifles and accompanied by sniffer dogs checked identifications of locals.

“With their blue and white SUVs circled around the Main Street office, at least one official was posted on the door with a semiautomatic rifle, randomly checking identifications. And other officers, some with K-9s, sifted through the building,” reports the Daily Commercial.
The activity was part of Operation Shield, an unannounced drill conducted by the DHS’ Federal Protective Service centered around “detecting the presence of unauthorized persons and potentially disruptive or dangerous activities.”

If you don't believe this shows how out-of-control this Administration is then I have lost all hope. There is no way ANY American can be ok with this.

People call me crazy for storing food in my basement, but then our government does stuff like this. They call this a "training exercise". What exactly are they training for? Is there soon going to be a need to suddenly verify the identity of American men, women and children?

Of course we wouldn't want to disenfranchise voters by requiring ID, but detaining Grandpa 'cause there is a mistake in his Social Security check is perfectly acceptable.

Girl Scouts sites Media Matters for America as media watchdog.

The Girl Scouts of America recently published a book pointing out that you girls should be skeptical of the information given to you by the various media outlets. If you hear something, you should check it out.....verify it is truthful and real. Go to Snopes, do your research......use sites like Media Matters for America to clear up any misinformation.

WHAT!??!?!?!

The Internet is a breeding ground for “urban legends,” which are false stories told as if true. Next time you receive a txt or e-mail about something that seems unbelievable, confirm it before you spread it.
The fact-checking site snopes.com investigates everything from urban legends to “news” articles and posts its findings. Media Matters for America (http://mediamatters.org/) gets the word out about media misinformation.

Yes parents, you read that right, the Girl Scouts is telling your daughters, age 8 to 18 that before they believe what they see or read or hear they should do their "fact checking" with the left leaning, Soros funded, Media Matters for America.

The Girl Scouts claim they are reprinting the book and taking out the MMfA reference, however recent shopping trips to purchase this book in Western Ohio, Cincinnati, Ohio, Jacksonville, Florida, Houston, Texas, and St. Louis, Missouri have netted no such change.

I plan to demand they change that passage to direct readers to Foxnews.com......think that will go over pretty well?

If there ever was a better example, I've never seen it in all it's glory like this.

In an effort to prove what a big man he is, Paul Christoforo, a PR rep for Ocean Marketing, tries to out douche a paying customer who knows how to use the Internet.......and loses.

On Dec. 16, a customer known only as "Dave" began a series of e-mail exchanges with Ocean Marketing, the PR firm that represents N-Control, a maker of modified game controllers for hardcore gamers and disabled people. Dave had pre-ordered a pair of Playstation 3 Avenger controllers from N-Control, but discovered that he would not get his controllers in time for Christmas. OccupySTL: Mayor Slays Web Site Hacked

Yesterday 6 members of Mayor Slays staff met with OccupySTL invaders agreeing to capitulate to them for a little longer. The meeting consisted of the Staff talking about how much they respected the protesters and how they thought they were so awesome that they were going to let them continue to break the law without consequence for some more time and the Occupiers talking about how they should be allowed to get more assistance from the city and even build permanent structures.

I was there and ran some video, all of which can be viewed here.

At the same time a group claiming to be affiliated with the hacking group Anonymous defaced the Mayors web site. They published the names and contact info for several Slay supporters, including addresses, phone numbers and e-mails and a message for the Mayor.

"YOU CAN REMOVE US FROM KEINER [sic] PLAZA, BUT NOT FROM YOUR SYSTEMS!"

While there appeared to be no financial information released and the site is run and maintained by Slay's campaign, not his office, this is still a pretty important breech.

I hope the Mayor and his staff will soon realize it does not matter how much they give these criminals, they will continue to want for more, pushing the limits of law and common decency. Good luck placating that.

CNNMoney: Old People are Richer than Young People........

CNN recently reported that older Americans have more money than younger Americans. The Wealth Gap between the young and old has increased to a 47-1 difference.

While the article points to various causes, such as older Americans having bought their homes before the housing bubble and more younger people going to college, there is no "one thing" they use to explain this disparity.

In 1984 older Americans were worth only about 10 times more than younger Americans. The one thing the article seems to miss completely is the people who were in the under 35 age range in 1984 were most likely raised by parents that had been raised by their parents with a value system that did not waste. Savings were valued. Working hard for your money and goods was valued. A strong work ethic was valued. Young adults during that time were completely different than the young adults of today.

My mom would have been in her mid -thirties by 1984-that means she was in her twenties for all of the 1970's. She and my dad worked very hard. They bought a home as soon as they got married. They paid cash for most every item they wanted or needed. They did not carry student loan debt and they had savings-EVEN IN THEIR 20's.

You would never see that today. The people who are in their twenties today are spoiled brats, given too much by their parents, all made winners by their school system and taught to take no pride in individual accomplishment by society as a whole. The liberal policies and PC B.S. that creeped into my generation, fully ruined the generation right after.

You can see their inability to take responsibility and their unbelievable greed in the Occupy Wall Street protests going on around in cities all over the country. What is greedier than telling one group that because you don't have something, it is up to them to provide it for you with nothing given in return? Rather than working to make a change that would give people more opportunity and more money to pay for those bills they are crying about, they are simply sitting around whining and pooping in the lobby of Bank of America. All the while, OWS is causing small businesses to close and doing nothing but directly harming those they claim to represent.

If this had been a Tea Partier, it would have gotten 24/7 coverage from every news outlet from here to Bangkok. Because it seems to reflect the position of the Occupy Wall Street crowd, there is no real threat the big three will ever cover it.....probably not even if someone actually gets shot.

Several influential New York state lawmakers have received threatening mails saying it is “time to kill the wealthy” if they don’t renew the state’s tax surcharge on millionaires, according to reports.
“It’s time to tax the millionaires!” reads the email, according to WTEN in Albany. “If you don’t, I’m going to pay a visit with my carbine to one of those tech companies you are so proud of and shoot every spoiled Ivy League [expletive] I can find.”

The email seems extremely specific and detailed in the actions they will take if the surcharge is not renewed. At one point the writer goes on to say the will launch a "liquor bottle full of flaming gasoline thru their nice picture window into their cute house,”.

It's refreshing in this time of a "new tone" that death threats to individuals and their families are still a time honored tradition amongst the left.

DC Courts to hear first arguments against FCC Net Neutrality Rules

Yesterday the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit announced they will hear lawsuits filed against the FCC concerning the Internet stranglehold known as "Net Neutrality". Thankfully, this is the same court that already said in April of 2010 the FCC had no power to regulate the Internet.

That's where Verizon filed its challenge to the net neutrality regulations, which govern how Internet providers provide access. The telecom giant argues that the Federal Communications Commission has no authority to regulate such issues.

Other groups, which take the opposite view and argue that the FCC didn't go far enough, filed lawsuits in five other courts. Those will all be combined and heard in the D.C. court, which was chosen randomly in a lottery system overseen by a panel of judges.

Hopefully this bodes well for those who understand the unnecessary, business killing regulation labeled as some sort of "equalizer" is an answer to an issue that doesn't exist.

Un.Be.Lievable.........the Solyndra mess is now being blamed on the BUSH administration by the Obama Administration. In what can only be described as a ridiculous statement, Jonathan Silver in his opening testimony today said:

Not only that, Silver says, "Solyndra submitted its initial application in 2006, and much of the extensive due diligence on the transaction was conducted between 2006 and the end of 2008."

He says that "by the time the Obama administration took office in late January 2009, the loan programs' staff had already established a goal of, and timeline for, issuing the company a conditional loan guarantee commitment in March 2009." Ultimately, the Obama administration issued the loan guarantee that March, which Silver argues, was "on the exact timeline that had been developed by the Bush administration..."

Only, NO sorry, try again:

But Rep. Cliff Stearns, R-Fla., chairman of the oversight subcommittee that is conducting the Solyndra investigation, said that there's a problem with that version of events. "In reality, on January 9, 2009 -- at the end of the Bush administration -- the DOE Credit Committee voted against offering a conditional commitment to Solyndra, saying that the deal was premature and questioning its underlying financial support," Stearns said in his opening statement. "Only after Obama took control, and the stimulus passed, was the Solyndra deal pushed through."

In fact, through the Internet way-back machine we find that there were several emails traded between the White House and the Office of Management and Budget charged with handing out the money from August of 2009 demanding they get busy and get the money handed out.

Oh look, now even the Treasury Department is in on the deal.

I wonder if it is still a problem for states to pass their own immigration laws? When Arizona did it the Department of Justice rained down on them like nobodies business. Now that Chicago has done it, I wonder how long until the Obama Administration comes down on them.......oh, well they probably won't since the law is designed to protect illegal immigrants-even those who commit felonies.

Michigan will become the first state to begin tracking children's weight.

In an attempt to combat Michigan's childhood obesity epidemic, Gov. Rick Snyder announced Wednesday that the state would begin tracking kids' body mass index through the Michigan Care Improvement Registry. Although the policy would be one of the most extensive government anti-childhood obesity efforts, pediatricians were divided over whether it would have the desired impact.
The tracking system would encourage pediatricians to calculate patients' BMI using height and weight measurements, and report these numbers to the state through the existing immunization tracking system, the Michigan Care Improvement Registry. The numbers would be reported anonymously, meaning that the child's identity would not be connected to his or her BMI in state records.

BREAKING: Grassroots WIN in Missouri "Aerotropolis" is dead on arrival

In what was a complete give away to special interest in the state of Missouri, the bill known as Aerotropolis or "China Hub" has been all but killed by Republican Senators. The Senators caucused late into the night, taking a preliminary vote, resulting in 11 Senators listening to their constituents and saying "HELL NO" to uncapped give aways and croney capitalism in our state. Thanks to the persistence of grass-roots, Tea Party and all the other patriot groups around the state it looks like Aeroptropolis will fail in the Missouri Senate this week during special session. This is a serious win against special interest and boondoggle spending. We even fought against local radio using their megaphone to push favorably for this issue. In the end the Republican Senators made the right decision and held fast to their fiscal values to the benefit of the Missouri Taxpayer.

The idea behind Aerotropolis is a good one, international trade and economic development would be great for our region. Part of the problem with this particular deal is the majority of the tax breaks contained in the bill go toward the construction costs (not actually doing business) of new warehouse space around the airport when we have over 18 million sq. ft. of unused space sitting idle right now. Because of the way the bill is designed there is one construction contractor in St. Louis that would qualify as able to build new warehouse space.

There does not seem to be any practical reason for the “100 acre” requirement
contained within the Aerotropolis tax credit bill. The requirement seems to serve only to restrict who could draw upon such tax credits, narrowing the field to a small
pool of large-scale developers.

Another issue with this project was the statement that Aerotropolis credits would not be given until the facilities were built and being used for international cargo. In fact there is no requirement of international trade only that "two forms of transportation" be used. In addition, there are only 20% and 10% international trade requirements for the majority of the tax credits. Also, there are no protections for the taxpayer that if the international trade never materializes the tax credits won't be awarded. Finally, there have already been $100 million in tax credits used or authorized in that area and $192 million more available.

Like Ballpark Village before it, the folks pushing for this legislation are pushing for millions in tax incentives for future growth and jobs that may never happened, based on shaky estimations of how much business and income will actually be generated. Taking the RCGA's word for it is what we, the taxpayer, did back in 2006 and none of that has materialized yet though millions have been given away to developers for a softball field.

Even though murders by the gangs has dropped from 14 in the first 5 1/2 months of the year to ZERO in the two months since the partnership was launched. San Jose enrolled in this joint program, deemed "Operation Community Shield", because gang violence and murder had skyrocketed to the highest levels in decades.

It is a shame that this group seems only to care for those who are in this country illegally-they are not innocent, they broke our laws by coming here-yet they care nothing for the truly innocent people being murdered in the street by those innocents SIREN wants to protect. They provide no evidence that anyone who did not deserve to be deported was and yet this is the meme they promote to put a stop to enforcement of the law. The fact of the matter is SIREN can disagree with the laws all they want, but until the law is changed police chiefs and law enforcement officials across this country must enforce the law and do what is right for the citizens of America.

Under the question “When Do Kids Start Becoming Curious About Sex?” the answer notes that infants have curiosity about their bodies.

“Children are human beings and therefore sexual beings,” the Q&A Web page says. “It's hard for parents to acknowledge this, just as it's hard for kids to think of their parents as sexually active. But even infants have curiosity about their own bodies, which is healthy and normal.”

A consensus belief by both speakers and pedophiles in attendance was that, because it vilifies MAPs, pedophilia should be removed as a mental disorder from the American Psychiatric Association’s (APA) Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM), in the same manner homosexuality was removed in 1973.
Dr. Fred Berlin acknowledged that it was political activism, similar to that witnessed at the conference, rather than scientific considerations that successfully led to the declassification of homosexuality as a mental disorder: The reason “homosexuality was taken out of DSM is that people didn’t want the government in the bedroom,” he said.

Self-descried “gay activist” and speaker Jacob Breslow said that children can properly be “the object of our attraction.” He further objectified children, suggesting that pedophiles needn’t gain consent from a child to have sex with “it” any more than we need consent from a shoe to wear it. He then used graphic, slang language to favorably describe the act of climaxing (ejaculating) “on or with” a child. No one in attendance objected to this explicit depiction of child sexual assault.

Fairness Doctrine is toast.....

The FCC has decided to delete the Fairness Doctrine from the books. The long abandoned, sometimes controversial, regulation requiring licensed broadcasters to present opposing points of view in specific circumstances is now going to be wiped from the books.

FCC Chairman Julius Genachowski told lawmakers in June that the agency planned to dump the rule as part of a broader effort by the Obama administration to eliminate outdated and unneeded regulations. The agency’s media bureau said Monday that it will eliminate 83 rules including the Fairness Doctrine.

The Fairness Doctrine, which has been around since 1949, required licensed broadcasters to give equal time to differing political views. The rule was introduced during an era in which there were far fewer media outlets and regulators wanted to ensure that listeners had access to both sides of political debate.

This is a good move by Chairman Genachowski. As had been proven time and time again, the public gets their fair share of outrageous liberal bias in media and it fails when it goes too far. There is no reason for the far left or this Administration to have such power to intimidate conservative talkers. If people don't want to hear it, it will go the way of AirAmerica.

Lt. Governor Peter Kinder responds to ridiculous claim by stripper.

Today, Missouri's Lt. Governor Peter Kinder called into The Dana Show to talk about his involvement in the lawsuit he filed on behalf of Missourians to block the implementation of Obamacare in our state and to respond to completely ridiculous claims made by Tammy Chapman, former stripper and Penthouse "Pet of the Month" from the early '90s.

In the non-story, promoted by the non-journalists at the local alternative rag, Chapman made the claim that Lt. Governor Kinder pursued a relationship with her and "stalked" her while she was a stripper. In fact, she goes so far as to say he made her feel uncomfortable by continuing to visit the establishment and "ogling" her once she made it clear she didn't want a relationship. I'm curious, did she also shout out from the stage to all the other men who would have liked to pursue a relationship with her that they too should stop ogling her while she was taking her clothes off? How rude of those men, there to look at naked women, ogling her! She goes on to say when Kinder happened into the bar 16 YEARS LATER, where she was then working (where the waitresses are sometimes serving drinks in their panties) she was so creeped out by him, she asked him if he remembered her, took a smiling picture voluntarily with him and told him she was looking for a place to live. Chapman makes the totally unsubstantiated and highly unlikely claim that Kinder offered her a room at his campaign funded condo-where he spends almost no time.

The most ridiculous part of this story is......well, basically the entire story. If they were going to write this article they should have titled it "Single Heterosexual Male Visits Strip Club, Pursues Woman Who Isn't Interested."

Ms. Chapman is quoted as saying "He uses his political business card to get women, he is not fit for public office." So, we have come to a point in the political discussion where single politicians shouldn't date or even attempt to date. They should not hand their business cards out and they should not be interested in finding or having a relationship of any kind. Because she says he found her attractive 16 years ago and might have tried to pursue her, makes him fully and completely unfit for office. Frankly, I find no evidence what-so-ever that he was a repeat visitor to said strip club OR that he had any interest in her at all. Pathetic.

Wait, whuuuut? Did you hear that? You know, the other part of the story that the RFT didn't bother to tell you. (But Big Government did.) Tammy Chapman's BFF in the whole wide world is John Ross-who tried to promote this exact same line of BS three years ago when Kinder kicked off his Lt. Governor campaign.

That matters because one year later, in 2008, during Kinder’s Lieutenant Governor campaign, Democrats start carrying posters w/ pics of Chapman saying “Who is this woman?” at events including speaking events in Missouri. The same photos used on those posters are displayed on Ross’ website. As previously reported, nothing came of the story, evidently the media realized there was nothing to it. Fast forward to this year, as Kinder prepares to run for Governor.

John Ross is a Democrat, he ran for US Congress against Jim Talent in 1998 in the St. Louis area. Ross has been friends with Tammy Chapman since 2004. He has a tell-all story of his friendship w/ Chapman here.

Myth: Congress will adopt a balances approach to reducing the debt and deficit over the next 10 years.
Fact: The members of Congress and the White House calling for a "balanced approach" think the rich should pay more taxes-even though they are paying the majority of all taxes paid in this country. Even though it is roughly 48% of all other people who don't pay taxes; who currently aren't being asked to contribute to the taxes and who, while paying little or no tax, are getting money back every year on their taxes through the Earned Income Credit. There isn't "balance" until everyone is contributing something.

Myth: Republicans wanted to gut every program we have that helps the poor and starving. They wanted Granny dead in the street and they would have sold their own children to get these goals accomplished.
Fact: Tea Party Republicans do want to see out of control spending on programs that we can no longer afford reined in. When benefit receivers are receiving almost twice the benefits they pay in, Social Security for instance, it becomes a false choice between keeping the program as it is and changing the program to something else. The real choice is between having the program at all, in some form, or not having anything. The same choice applies to Medicare and Medicaid. While it is true Republicans want to see changes to these programs it is so they can keep a safety net for the most needy, in some form, for years to come. Otherwise, it is Democrats who hate the sick, the young, the old and the poor because they are insisting on keeping programs we will no longer be able to pay for in a very short time. Then there will be nothing.

Myth: We will be able to tax the "rich" at a rate that will keep Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid in their current form with their current and predicted expenditures.
Fact: There isn't enough money or assets in all of the United States to pay for these programs at these levels for any amount of time.

Myth: The Joint Committee puts pressure on all sides to compromise.
Fact: Spending caps and committees have been used previously as a gimmick to pretend to reduce spending in this country before. They tried it in the 80's and the 90's-it didnt work. Congress need only claim the funds are for "Emergency Spending" and 'viola! presto more money-o! In addition, this Joint committee will surely not limit itself to looking at spending caps and tax increases only. With the ability to pass legislation out of the Joint Committee that only allow for a pass/fail vote in the Senate there is no doubt this committee will abuse their power and pass or attempt to pass gun control laws, amnesty laws and a myriad of other things the majority of the American people do not want.

Myth: We only want want is fair in this country when it comes to getting the millionaires and billionaires to pay their part.
Fact: Um, yeah, they already pay their part and everyone elses part. When will "fair" and "everybody" actually mean really fair and all-the-people-in-the-country "everybody"?

I read a story the other day reminding me that we all pay for "free" cell phones for the "poor". I was then reminded why this pisses me off.

"..The federal Universal Service Fund, which all telecommunications providers support as required by federal law, pays for the programs.
Amy Storey, a spokeswoman for CTIA - The Wireless Association in Washington, said all U.S. wireless carriers charge consumers a fee to recover the cost of their contribution to the fund, which varies quarterly as determined by the Federal Communications Commission.
"The program is about peace of mind," Carter said. "It's one less bill that someone has to pay, so they can pay their rent or for day care. ... It is a right to have peace of mind."

That's right. The right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness and peace of mind. Right there in the Bill of Rights. Er, no.

Universal Service Fund
The Telecommunications Act of 1996 requires phone service providers to contribute a percentage of usage revenue each quarter to the Universal Service Fund.
It's designed to help schools, libraries and low-income and rural residents secure several types of phone service, including cell service.

-It doesn't cut ANY spending at all, it simply reduces the amount we were going to increase the debt.

Glad we passed that debt ceiling bill before the market tanked and the economy went all haywire. Oh #sadface.......

Oh look, Obamacare mandates birth control and all kinds of other things that only apply to women are given deductible free to women based on the fact that women shouldn't have to pay more because they are women. Yes that's right, we shouldn't have to pay extra because we are women, everyone else should pay for it.

I have been trying to figure out when it became sane to be the party in a relationship that couldn't stop spending. When did the one who wanted a budget which pays the bills without spending more than there is in the bank account become the lunatic? How is it that one spouse can demand of the other that spending more than they have will bring about fiscal stability? How can you demonize the party which is reluctant to give money to the hobo on the street when a disconnection notice has been served at their own address? It is madness that somehow the Obama administration wants to accuse the Republicans of being unwilling to compromise, yet Democrats time and time again veto and vote down every plan the Republicans put forward-without even looking at them.

Seriously, if this relationship were someone in your family or your neighbor, you'd shake your head and wonder why the fool didn't divorce the compulsive spender a long time ago. Clearly they don't want help with their spending addiction. Clearly they don't think they have a problem. At some point you have to cut your losses and worry about your own future. And of course, the future of your children..........

The Republicans standing up against Harry Reid and the Obama machine don't want the failure of America or a collapse of the economy. These Republicans want fiscal responsibility. These Republicans want to get an out-of-control system under control. No one wants children to starve or the aged to die alone in the street-the only ones who want that are the insane part of the Democratic Party that can't stop lying to push their agenda.

There has to come a time when the limit has been reached; when the spending is done. We have raised the debt ceiling 80 times since the '90's. We have had countless debt commissions that have done nothing. We don't have to default unless that is what this Administration wants to do. We don't have to let our children starve or criminals run loose; unless that is what this Administration wants to do.

The time has come to accept where we are and make the hard choices that must be made.

Despite never having a President spend more or grow the size of government larger, President Obama recently claimed President Roosevelt was very fiscally conservative.

President Barack Obama said that Franklin Delano Roosevelt (FDR) – the president best known for establishing a welfare and regulatory state in America – was “fiscally conservative,” in response to a question about how to keep the economy going.
Obama was referring to spending-cut measures Roosevelt took in the middle of the New Deal that lasted from 1933 to 1940.

“FDR comes in, he tries all these things with the New Deal; but FDR, contrary to myth, was pretty fiscally conservative,” the president said Friday during a town hall meeting on the campus of the University of Maryland.

“And so after the initial efforts of the New Deal and it looked like the economy was growing again, FDR then presented a very severe austerity budget,” Obama continued. “And suddenly, in 1937, the economy started going down again. And, ultimately, what really pulled America out of the Great Depression was World War II.”

Um, yeah except for all those pesky facts and what not:

No one grew the size of government, taxation and spending in peacetime the way Roosevelt did, Powell said.

“FDR tripled taxes and spending more than doubled from 1933 to 1940,” Powell said. “That was the biggest increase in peacetime spending in American history. Before that, the biggest increases in spending came during wars.”

Further, the New Deal did not bring the economy back and prolonged recovery, Powell said, as unemployment was still at 17 percent by 1940, before war spending began to pull the country out of the depression.

“There were a number of New Deal policies that make it harder and more expensive to hire people,” Powell continued. “Compulsory unionism made it more costly to hire people. The more expensive something is the less you get of it. The more you subsidize something, the more you have of it.”

Despite the $500 billion spent under FDR through various programs, the unemployment rate in the United States did not significantly decrease until after the U.S. officially entered World War II in 1941, according to Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) records from 1929 through 1944.

It has been held for quite some time now that FDR was a disastrous President who's policies would have wrecked this country had we not gone to war. The biggest issue we face with this President and those like him is there is never enough money spent no matter how much we spend or how long we try it. The Keynesian's can never say enough is enough, this theory is a failure. There has never been an instance where continued radical spending in the face of economic decline has ever done anything to recover an economy. In addition, it is completely true today as much as back in the 1940's: continued over-burdening of companies with rules, regulations and policies will cripple recovery and hiring "to infinity and beyond".

President Obama persists in telling us lies and claiming they are reality....enough already. Get to work on fixing the economy and stop pushing this fanatical idealism that will destroy the Americanism that makes us great.

The White House is using Twitter to bully people they dont agree with. In fact, they even have a paid position (paid by your tax dollars of course)-namely the Director of Progressive Media and OnLine Response. This position, currently occupied by Jesse Lee, has the job of thwarting any negative press the White House gets online or through social media, such as Twitter. Its fun to know that $72,500 of our taxpayer dollars are going to promote only one side of the argument and one point of view.

6th Circuit Court of Appeals holds up individual mandate as constitutional.

The plaintiff in the case, Thomas More Law Center, had argued that the mandate compels economic activity, rather than simply regulating it, and is therefore unconstitutional. The Justice Department argued that the provision does not require people to consume healthcare services — which almost everyone will — but rather governs how they pay for it.

The court agreed with the federal government.

“The activity of foregoing health insurance and attempting to cover the cost of health care needs by self-insuring is no less economic than the activity of purchasing an insurance plan,” the decision states. “Thus, the financing of health care services, and specifically the practice of self-insuring, is economic activity.”

A Huston Veterans Cemetery is banning the word GOD from military funerals.

The director of the Houston VA National Cemetery, Arleen Ocasio, has ordered the burial teams to instruct that religious references, as well as prayer, are no longer to be included as part of the burial services. One of the things we could do about it is to change the technologies, to put out less of this pollution, to stabilize the population, and one of the principal ways of doing that is to empower and educate girls and women. You have to have ubiquitous availability of fertility management so women can choose how many children to have, the spacing of the children. You have to lift child-survival rates so that parents feel comfortable having small families. And most important, you have to educate girls and empower women. And that's the most powerful leveraging factor, and when that happens, then the population begins to stabilize and societies begin to make better choices and more balanced choices.

(AUDIO) Chris Matthews really hates those opposing side presenting, so-called evenhanded, objective journalists telling those idiots the "other side" of climate change. Those stupid people just won't fall in line on the whole climate change thing.

Ben Bernake confused as to why the economy is still so bad.

Fed Chairman Ben Bernanke told reporters Wednesday that the central bank had been caught off guard by recent signs of deterioration in the economy. And he said the troubles could continue into next year.

"We don't have a precise read on why this slower pace of growth is persisting," Bernanke said. He said the weak housing market and problems in the banking system might be "more persistent than we thought."
In a policy statement issued at the end of a two-day meeting, the Fed blamed the worsening economic outlook in part on higher energy prices and the earthquake and tsunami in Japan, which slowed production of cars and other products.

But at a press conference afterward, the second of what the Fed says will be regular question-and-answer sessions with reporters, Bernanke conceded the economy's troubles are more puzzling and potentially more long-lasting than a pair of temporary shocks.

“ATF makes every effort to interdict weapons that have been purchased illegally and prevent their transportation to Mexico,” the letter said.
