Top ICE Official says he may not process illegals from Arizona

Another top Administration official announced he has no concern for the law or America. John Morton, assistant secretary of Homeland Security for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), announced at a meeting Wednesday he likely would not process llegal immigrants referred to them by Arizona.

Echoing comments by President Barack Obama and others in the administration, Morton said that Arizona’s new law targeting illegal immigration is not “good government.” The law makes it a crime to be in the state illegally and requires police to check suspects for immigration paperwork.

Morton said his agency will not necessarily process illegal immigrants referred to them by Arizona officials. The best way to reduce illegal immigration is through a comprehensive federal approach, not a patchwork of state laws, he said.

“I don’t think the Arizona law, or laws like it, are the solution,” Morton said.

What is completely unbelievable to me is how it has become common place, even revered in this Administration, to completely disregard law based on personal belief. I do not care what his personal opinion about this law is. If he is incapable of doing his job, he must resign. The Department of Homeland Security has already failed on the illegal immigration front by continually allowing illegals to cross the boarder to start with. They rape young girls, they bring drugs into our country and they kill our citizens-it is YOUR JOB to secure the boarders, if you are incapable of doing your job, you should be fired. From ICE’s homepage:
“Formed in 2003 as part of the federal government’s response to the 9/11 attacks, ICE’s mission is to protect the security of the American people and homeland by vigilantly enforcing the nation’s immigration and customs laws.”
No where in there do I see the words "optional". It is unacceptable to be in law enforcement and believe you are not only the law enforcer but also the lawmaker. We cannot pick and choose what laws are enforced or what laws are obeyed. I wonder if soon it will be an acceptable defense to break the law based on your disagreement with it.

It is clear that the head of ICE is not even familiar with the current federal law either. When Megan Kelly did a compare and contrast of the Arizona Law to existing Federal Law, she found that the Federal Law is less restrictive on when people can be asked for their documentation and what procedures must be followed.

So, he will not accept illegals from Arizona because he feels the law is not "good government" when there are far more protections in place to prevent racial profiling in the Arizona law than in the Federal Law. So where does that leave us America?

It leaves us unprotected and vulnerable in a world where many try to destroy us at every turn. How do you like those odds.........
